Randy Andrea's Story
Aloha! (from Mililani, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii)
In 1971 my family moved from Woodland Hills to Honolulu, Hawaii. There was a shipping strike so my mom stayed behind to make sure all of our household goods got sent over okay; I stayed behind to help her & start out on my own. After she left I moved in with my Aunt, still Woodland Hills, until I rejoined my family in late 1972, then living in Kailua, Hawaii.
About a year later while in between jobs I met my "local boy" husband on the beach in Kailua. We married in 1981 & I moved back to Glendora, CA because his job was in West Covina. 1985 saw us fin...Expand for more
ally afford our first home in West Covina.
We stayed most of his career, due to costs ( Hawaii expensive!) & better working conditions in CA. But in 2001 I finally got him to move back home to HI. At first we stayed with our respective moms, his in Kailua & mine in Hawaii Kai, but then we bought our "just built" home in Mililani Mauka, in the central part of Oahu, about a 30 minute drive (on a good day!) out of downtown Honolulu. Although not blessed with our own children, we do dote on his married daughter, a 7 year old niece, 2 adult nieces & a nephew living in Colorado & our 2 male cats. ALOHA
